Honoring Visionary Leaders
To foster a culture of excellence and celebrate leadership in the startup ecosystem, TSW 2025 introduces a formal Awards element as part of the week’s programme. The centrepiece is the Lifetime Achievement Award, a prestigious honour bestowed on a pioneering individual who has significantly shaped Tanzania’s startup and innovation landscape. Presented by the TSA Board on Day 2, this award recognizes years—often decades—of dedication, from championing entrepreneurs and influencing policy to mentoring young innovators. In essence, it says “Thank you for paving the way.”

Celebrating high-potential startups that showcase innovation, resilience, and strong market traction.
Community Recognition

In addition to this lifetime honour, TSW 2025 will shine a spotlight on high-potential startups through competitive pitch sessions and recognitions. Startups will pitch their ideas and products throughout the week, with standout ventures earning accolades such as “Best Pitch” or “Startup of the Year”. Winners may receive investor meet-ups, incubation support, and national exposure.
These recognitions—though informal compared to the Lifetime Achievement Award—play a vital role in encouraging emerging talent. They validate young startups, increase visibility, and promote a healthy spirit of competition.
By honouring both trailblazers and rising stars, the Awards emphasize TSW’s belief in a full-circle ecosystem: we celebrate those who built the foundation and empower those who will build the future. All awards will be given transparently and merit-based, selected by panels of peers and experts.
